12 new books. 3 new cd's. I'm back.

Ok. So I'm just going to jump right in to my thought at this very moment. I feel like my old self again, this summer is going to be a wonderful way for me to experience God in ways I never have. I recently took a trip to a bookstore, and purchased 12 books, & 3 CDs. They range from "Lost in the American Dream" which talks about how the costs, false promises, and spiritual realities of living the American Dream affect people. I have bible study books that look at present day movies and pull out the biblical truths in them, and books about poverty and the homeless. The 2 I began last night though, were beautiful. The first, entitles "The 5 Love Languages", and has been highly recommended by my friends. The Second book, entitled "emotional purity", was a book I found online, and searched for in the store, only to fall in love even more with what the book was about. I am only a short way through these books, and already am making numerous connections to the author, and the stories she fills the book with.

Random THOUGHT: Two squirrels are outside my window right now, running up and down the tree. It's so cute, yes, I said cute. Now a bird flew onto my window sill, nature is just so beautiful.

Connection: Nature is all around us, we are included I believe. We live with all these beautiful creatures, and we ourselves are beautiful. Think about how animals must see us, we have two eyes, and a funny nose in the middle of our face. We come in all different sizes, colors, and speak different languages, but we are all the same. Just like animals are cute, and their relationships with each other are so intriguing, so are human relationships. We have the ability, through Christ, to truly love people around us, yet, one day will find that person where you can be intimate with, love from your inner being. This relationship is not meant for everyone, its meant for SOMEONE. My SOMEONE is out there, I just know it, and I pray for them, not everyday like I should, but I do pray for them. I pray for patience, and guidance, and wisdom, because these are things that our world tell us not to wait for. People today seem to get so caught up in the "order" of life, going to school, getting married, having children, that we don't have time to have that relationship with God we are supposed to, the one that allows us to realize what love is, the REAL love. It's so much cooler than the "I love skittles, or I love Fried Chicken" kind of love. I can't wait to experience it, truly.

ANYWAYS: Back to the books--I'm excited. It's only been one day and already I'm getting excited about what these books will cause my little head to think.

EXCITING NOTE: I'm moving into my apartment today:) No More Dorm!!

Beauty

Wow! Life is such an interesting thing. I've experienced some beautiful things the last couple days, and I just hope that you can envision these in your minds:

1. A mother and father as they enter the house, and spot their child. :)
2. A mother on her way to her young son's t-ball game.
3. A sunset, double rainbow, and West Texas Thunderstorm all at the exact same time...from a rooftop:)
4. A young crying child running to her mom, because that makes it all better(:
5. Getting bit by mosquitoes, and then seeing the OFF can coming your way!!
6. Green grass, beautiful trees of green and brown, and blooming flowers outside.
7. A beautiful wedding, two individuals becoming one, to have and hold and grow in faith for the rest of their lives.
8. My 95 year old, great aunt, passed away yesterday. What's beautiful about that? She lived 95 wonderful years, and had a loving husband for 69 years, who is still living. That's love.

Well, I'm sure there are more, but that is what is coming to my head at the moment. Look around you, and find the joy, the LOVE in life. It's truly beautiful.

A New "Old Post"

I sit and ponder, ponder about my life.

Wondering where I will go, what I will do, who will I share my life with. You see, I have realized, realized how wonderful God can be. He can enable you to feel things that you never thought were possible. Am I going overboard here? Well…I don’t think so. God has been there when I have experienced fear, the fear of losing someone close to me, the fear of the unknown, the fear of the future. God has been there when I have experienced true happiness. God is here when I experience Joy, and Love. Love for others, love for family, love for the nature, and that love that you just can’t explain, the kind that makes your stomach twist. God is here when I experience confusion. Confusion about feelings, emotion, worldly faults and harm. Hatred. Lust. The list goes on and on. What’s the constant? God. He’s always there. Love him. LOVE him. LOVE. You see? If you love your neighbor, your living the life that God wants you to live. I can’t explain the feelings that are going on inside of me right now, but I know I want to share them. I want to tell you about them. I want to be loved, held, never let go. But, I must first realize that God is forever holding me. He is my Father. I am His Child. His Precious Child. I want to hold others in my arms, and make them feel safe, spread the Word so that they may feel God’s love too. I want to hold You. I want to help the pain go away. I want to change the world, and if I change myself, I am indeed changing the world. For a change is a change is a change. You have changed me. I am forever changed. I love you. I LOVE you. I LOVE. LOVE.

Working Out--God's way.

So, this morning I began my day at 6:45 a.m. I turned my alarm clock off [my phone actually], put my hair up, tied my shoes, and ate an apple, because I misplaced my toothbrush yesterday [Don't worry, I'm getting a new one in a few minutes]. I headed out to meet a friend at the football field, to try out this whole "Working out with a buddy thing". It's early, and summer, and there is no reason that I HAVE to be up this early, but it was a choice. As I was running around, and trying out some new machines, I realized something. This is but one thing that is missing from my life at the moment. I'm a very involved college student, ranging from Residence Life, to Religious life, to Social Clubs, and anything else I can get my hands on, but at the same time, the "Lindsey" time was pulled out of my schedule. I was very good at being busy and doing the work that I was felt called to do on this campus, but I didn't take time to realize what God wanted me to do for me. Psalm 46:10 says "Be still, and know that I am God." If anyone knows me, they know that being still is the single hardest thing for me to conquer. Well, for the last two weeks since school has been out, I have had no choice but to 'be still' since work has not started, and I've had nothing really on my schedule. I did not realize how grand this time was until the last couple days, when I saw what I was missing the last year. I have not let myself be still, or better yet, be weak. I haven't let myself hurt, or cry out, I've always covered it up to be there for other people, when really I needed others. God wants us to come to Him, to cry to Him, to let HIM be there for us. The best thing about all this, is it's never too late, God is here now, and I can cry out to him now more than ever. It's beautiful. So I guess the point to my blog is this: I don't work out because I have to, I do it because it gives me some time for myself, because it's treating my body well. And, I don't have a relationship with God because I have to, I do it because it gives me everlasting life, something to live for, someone to cry out to always, in happiness and sadness, and everything in between. It gives me LOVE:)

DayOne of the rest of my life...

Who am I? My name is Lindsey. I'm a 21 year old, fixing to be college senior at the best University in the entire world, if you ask me. Why do I say this about McMurry, well I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. I don't feel like spilling my entire history on this first preview of my blogging life, so I decided to share some thoughts that are swirling around in my maniac brain. What am i doing right now, the very beginning of my summer "vacation"? I'm sitting, and I've been doing a whole lot of this lately. Sitting and reflecting, thinking, pondering, wondering, refocusing, questioning, doubting, debating, and just about every other related adjective. Life has been quite the roller coaster lately, but not in a bad way, in a growing sort of way. I recently faced having to say goodbyes to my friends who were graduating, moving away, and just leaving briefly for the summer, some people who I see occasionally, and some I saw and shared thoughts with every day. Goodbye seems to be a key word in my life right now, and personally, I don't like it. So, this is my new outlook, your stuck with me. I'm not going anywhere, and even though you might be, too bad. I've recently seemed to be surrounded by death, and although most of it was not personal, it still was. I think anytime someone dies, it is sad, but should it be? Well, yes, it's normal to mourn, but also to think about how they are in a wonderful place, one that I will visit too, someday. A couple weeks ago, a police officer was killed on his motorcycle, right down the street, and I happened to drive by shortly after the accident. A while later, a high school senior girl was also killed in a traffic accident, followed by a friend who's grandfather was killed in another type of auto accident. These are tragedies, and what do I say to these family and friends? It's not goodbye? How cliche, although true. You know what bugs me, and I mean this with all respect, why do some people get massive city funerals, some churches will be filled, and yet other deaths, well they seem to go unmentioned. How come we mourn with the people we all know, but we don't mourn with the ones that we don't know that well? Shouldn't every person who leaves this earth to Join our Father be entitled to a celebration like no other? AND...it should never grow old. I just can't wait for the day when no human is greater than another, and when everyone wraps their mind around that, including myself. Well, I'm sitting on a roof right now, don't know if that's really allowed, but it's a nice spot to be at the moment. The sunset is beautiful, and having nothing to do at the moment, well that could possibly be just as beautiful. I had a conversation with a friend last night, it was more of a question, and a couple replies, but it was quite thought provoking. You see, I'm putting a lot of thought into my life, and what I'm doing in my day to day routine, and whether it is pleasing to God. It's so easy to be sidetracked by the ways of the world today, and to be drawn in to unGodly thoughts and actions. My final words are these: Respect those around you, even if you don't agree. Love them, seek to understand them. Don't let your thoughts overcome you, and don't let words go unspoken that are on your heart. LOVE:)
